This page is devoted to weapons that were acquired though the museum deacession process. On rare occasions,  a museum will sell some of its collection in order to raise funds for operations or replenish the account from which they make new purchases or upgrade their displays. These opportunities are infrequent and cause heated bidding by collectors and dealers alike as the items being sold  are the best of what was available at the time they were purchased by the museum and were carefully vetted by the curators in charge.

Consequently, we are always delighted to be able to offer edged weapons with this provenance.
