Presented is a superior example of a Chelsea Cock Co., marine
clock, SN 525973 dating from Ca 1947. The serial number on the case and movement match. This is a exceptional
ship’s clock keeping time with a quartz comparison watch. It has a six inch 12 hour silvered brass dial in
near new original condition, moon hands, and a small bit seconds hand over the center. It is housed in a large, heavy
weight 7 1/4 inch forged brass case. The bezel screws on and off.
CHELSEA is acid etched in black upper case letters within the seconds bit.
The movement is an 8 day time only with a 9-jeweled escapement which appears new, and may account for its good
timekeeping. The classic moon style hands are blued gun metal. The serial number indicates it was made between 1947 and 1949. It
weighs almost 7 pounds.  A key is included.
