Presented is a carefully made, upscale, recreation of an Italian I.A.C. three light, twelve bolt, commercial dive helmet. Authentic contemporary commercial dive helmets in good condition by this maker sell for approximately $4000 to $4500 with older versions selling for considerably more. I.A.C. competes in Italy against Galeazzi, Salvas, and Gabanna. This helmet also compares favorably to the better quality though ubiquitous reproductions of the Navy MK V which can easily be told from the real thing. Therefore, it is a good value which most people will not recognize as a reproduction.

The picture directly above of an I.A.C. helmet missing its maker’s tag, is from the files of Maurizio Masucci, one of Italy’s finest craftsmen of all forms of diving gear and helmets.
This helmet is made from brass and copper. Its front port opens and all movable parts operate except that the handle to the spitcock has been broken off. The bonnet is mounted on the breast plate held in place by three screws on the inside neck ring. The brails are held on by Navy MK V style nuts, The original nuts sell for $20.00 each in today’s market.
This helmet is made for DISPLAY and cannot be dived.
