BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN STYLE SKYLIGHT BINNACLE
PRESENTED is a very unusual style Skylight or Cathedral Binnacle on a very decorative black cast iron stand. Neither the binnacle casing or the compass has any makers mark, so we dont know where it originated, but think the style puts in at the turn of the 20th century. Its a very dramatic piece, adding a stunning nautical touch to any decor.Overall Height: 38″

Skylight or Cathedral Binnacles were very popular throughout the 20th Century. They were common on fine yachts and in the early periods, aboard ships. They continue to be highly sought after, and weve sold many over the years. The demand is such, that when we do get them, we dont have them for very long.

CONDITION:This fine and very decorative binnacle is in excellent condition. The brass has been polished and lacquered for dramatic display. There is a bubble within the compass itself, but the compass is working properly. The gimballed compass can ride steadily providing it is in a stable environment. This would not be suitable for ship board use.
