Presented is an American Eagle Carving by an unknown artist.  This fine piece shows our eagle clutching a Stars and Stripes Shield in his talons.

Our beautiful eagle has heavily incised feathers on fully spread wings,  a fierce expression and painted classic american shield.  He has a weathered appearance so we believe he’s spent time outdoors.

After the success of the Revolution, the Continental Congress was looking for a symbol for our national seal. Many alternatives were considerThe eagle has heavily incised feathers on fully spread wings, and the fierce-looking head with a glaring white eyeed from roosters to zebras and beavers, along with some ancient historical figures. Thankfully, considering some of the suggestions, the Bald Eagle won the day. The eagle was depicted with the motto held in his beak: “E Pluribus Unum” -” out of many, one”. This fine elegant bird was felt to present a “powerful image of liberty”.  They coontinue to be one of the most popular decorative accents in an infinite variety of decors and settings.
