Marked A. Aragon Oax Presented is an Eagle Head Bowie knife with acid etched blade and bone handle. made
by the famous Aragon family of Oaxaca, Mexico, weapon makers since the 1700’s. They are known to have made ceremonial swords for President Don Porfirio Díaz (1830-1915) himself. The
fierce looking eagle head is finely made with excellent detailing. The grip is cattle bone and the metal work steel with
a Mexican silver ferule and pommel. A capstan style tang nut has a lanyard hole. Animals including evergreen
trees, wolves, deer, and a pheasant are etched on both sides of the blade with the maker’s mark on the ricasso. The guard
is in the form of an “X“ and allows the knife to be displayed upright without a stand. All in all, a very interesting and desirable Bowie blade with a stylish eagle pommel

CONDITION: Considering its age everything is in very good condition and
tight. The blade has only some minor brown spots and mottling, but no pitting. No scabbard. A very nice piece.
